Job Description

Berklee is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented Enrollment Officer to join our Enrollment Operations team. In this role, you will be the engine behind the application pipeline for Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and Berklee NYC. You will manage a dedicated caseload, guide international and domestic applicants through the admissions pipeline, and directly influence selection decisions. At Berklee, your work directly supports the next generation of creative leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Data Management:

  • Caseload Evaluation: Process new undergraduate and graduate applications. Provide crucial quality control to ensure portfolios and files are complete.
  • Academic Assessment: Conduct objective academic evaluations for the Board of Admissions. Your assessments serve as a Primary Quality Rating component used to select incoming cohorts.
  • International Admissions: Manage TOEFL and credential evaluation workflows to authenticate international transcripts and ensure compliance with international student policies.
  • Transfer Credit Evaluation: Determine the validity of college transcripts and AP scores, coordinate credit awards with the Registrar, and communicate preliminary transfers to accepted students.

Auditions & Strategy Operations:

  • A&I Coordination: Schedule Audition and Interview (A&I) events for first-time applicants, manage venue databases, and design creative outreach campaigns to recover "no-shows."
  • Admissions Interviewing: Step out from behind the desk to serve as a staff interviewer at online and on-campus audition events, directly assessing applicants for admission and merit-based scholarships.
  • Strategic Conversion: Collaborate with the Operations Team to optimize processing workflows, update public-facing web copy, and proactively boost prospect-to-applicant conversion rates.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience: Experience in file management or high-volume processing, ideally within a college or university environment.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with databases, complex word processing, and file systems. Familiarity with standard enrollment toolkits is highly valuable.
  • Core Competencies: Exceptional organizational habits, sharp attention to detail under pressure, and strong professional writing skills.
  • Mindset: A deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, an adaptable team-oriented spirit, and a healthy sense of humor.
  • Preferred: A musical background and familiarity with Berklee's curriculum will help you authentically connect with applicants.

Why Berklee?

  • Mission-Driven Impact: Guide global creative talent through their first major steps into higher ed.
  • Cultural Access: Enjoy nightly access to world-class music, theater, and dance performances right on campus.
  • Top-Tier Benefits: Comprehensive health and dental coverage, an institutional 403(b) plan with matching contributions, and tuition benefits for you and your family.
