About the role

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for an Enrolled Nurse to join our new public surgical ward in this permanent, part-time position working 32hrs per week This opportunity requires flexibility to work across all shift types over a seven-day roster. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 12 months’ clinical experience, along with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Based at our Springfield campus, these roles are a part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — which opened early 2026. As Mater’s first new public hospital in over 60 years, this state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.

Salary range: $37.93 - $40.34 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

As an Enrolled Nurse you will provide patient-centred nursing care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse on duty.

  • Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate
  • Demonstrating clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients during perioperative journey
  • Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
  • Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth

About you

You will enjoy working in a busy and rewarding environment where you can become part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care. You will have recent Clinical experience in Anaesthetics, Scrub/Scout or day surgery.

  • Have current registration with AHPRA with no notations
  • Demonstrated experience in general surgical and orthopaedic specialties highly regarded
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
  • Be able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines and recognise priority tasks
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a focus on exceptional patient-centred care and customer service
  • Digital and computer proficiency
  • You must participate in a 24/7 roster (including weekends)

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
