The Team:

The Alasdair Macdonald Acute Medical Unit (AMU) is a 25 bed high acuity unit focusing on acute medicine, with a strong multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. The Role:

• The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients within the scope of practice of the Enrolled Nurse and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse/Midwife to achieve planned patient outcomes.
• Contribute to the maintenance and promotion of a safe work environment.
• In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluates patient/client care.
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive approach.
• Previous experience in acute medicine is highly desirable.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully Rotational) position, working 60 hours per fortnight, commencing from 27 September 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $73,109 to $80,524 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines).
