About the Role

We are seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join our innovative BBM Programme, supporting patients and whānau on their journey towards improved health and wellbeing. The programme combines movement, education, and healthcare support to empower participants to make sustainable lifestyle changes and achieve their health goals.

This is a unique opportunity for an Enrolled Nurse who enjoys working within the community and is committed to making a meaningful difference in people's lives. Many of those who engage with the programme come from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Pacific communities, making cultural awareness and relationship-building essential to success in this role.

You will work closely with participants attending BBM classes across South Auckland on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and West Auckland on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, providing health monitoring, education, clinical support, and ongoing encouragement throughout their journey.

In addition to supporting the programme, you will also attend community health events and provide nursing support within our general practice clinics when required, offering a diverse and rewarding nursing experience.

What You Will Do

As a valued member of the team, you will:

• Support participants attending BBM exercise and education sessions across South and West Auckland.
• Monitor participant wellbeing and provide advice, encouragement, and health education throughout the programme.
• Complete clinical assessments including blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring, weight, and other health measures.
• Work collaboratively with General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, programme staff, and community partners.
• Support community health events and wellness initiatives, including health screenings and preventative healthcare activities.
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices and support patients and whānau to better understand and manage their health.
• Assist with general practice nursing activities, including immunisations, recalls, HPV self-swabbing, ECGs, and routine nursing support.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure reporting requirements are completed on time.

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current Enrolled Nurse registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• A genuine commitment to health promotion, prevention, and improving health outcomes.
• Confidence working with individuals and families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
• An appreciation of Pacific values, customs, and worldviews, with the ability to provide care that is respectful, inclusive, and culturally responsive.
• The ability to communicate in a Pacific language, such as Samoan, Tongan, Cook Islands Māori, Niuean, Tokelauan, or Fijian, would be highly regarded.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Well-developed digital literacy and documentation skills.
• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within healthcare delivery.
• A collaborative approach and a strong commitment to person-centred care.

Experience in primary care, community nursing, health promotion, or population health will be advantageous.
