About the opportunity

Mercy Place Montrose is a modern aged care facility built to combat loneliness and isolation for our residents. Complete with hairdressing salon, coffee shop, outdoor areas and views of the Dandenongs, Mercy Place Montrose is proud of our team spirit and community engagement. We are looking for an enrolled nurse to join our clinical team to be an integral part of ensuring the high standard of care we offer continues, and to be part of a happy and supportive team. You will have some autonomy within your role as you work with care staff to assist residents and you will be supported by a team of Registered Nurses including senior clinicians on every shift.

  • Effective management of a shift. Act as a preceptor / mentor for other ENs and or Personal Care Workers. Assist to develop and sustain an environment that supports excellence in clinical practice and resident care. Ensure residents have accurate up to date care plans based on their personal values and believes as well as care needs. Ensure allocation of staff is based on relevant residents clinical needs and staff capacity to care for the resident. Assists team members as required. Undertakes education and training as required.
  • Promote a person centred approach in all activities. Involve the resident in their care and see them as a valuable member of society and our community. Treat each person as an individual and understand and support their values and believes and include these in their individualised assessments and care plans.
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers.
  • Create and promote an environment that is positive, vibrant, fun, spontaneous and filled with meaning.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) workers screening check OR a current Police Record Check and evidence of application for NDIS check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
