Position Details

Heritage Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Kennel Assistant/Technician’s Assistant to add to our dedicated team. Working together to establish and uphold the highest standards of patient care, we believe that to care for our patients, we must also care for each other. Essential physical requirementsThe position is a physically demanding position with a majority of the time spent standing. Must be able to lift and or carry objects up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching are required.

Working ConditionsThe medical practice setting is located in an animal hospital. There will be exposure to animal dander, animal fluids, and animal noise. Hazardous materials are used in the practice.

Performance Responsibilities

  • General Expectations
  • Understands and Heritage Animal Hospital Core Values as created by the staff and partners.
  • Presents an effective personal appearance, and dresses in a professional manner. Scrubs or clean, casual work attire
  • Maintains a clean and neat work environment
  • Exhibits excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with others in a clear, concise, accurate and timely manner.
  • Shows a willingness to collaborate with others.

Facility tasks

  • Wash and dry all laundry. Keep smocks, lab coats, scrubs, and linens in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Restock towels and blankets as needed
  • Keep the kennel areas clean at all times.
  • Clean up all garbage, poop, and debris from the parking lot and around the hospital. This includes scooping the patient enclosure.
  • Clean any areas of the hospital that have become soiled
  • Work on the Cleaning Checklist, weekly, and monthly.
  • Walking patients.
  • Giving medications.
  • Assisting technicians.
