What You'll Be Doing

#TeamWake is looking for an Enhanced Role Registered Nurse for the Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic! The primary responsibility for this role is to provide clinic services to patients seen in the STD Clinic, to include identification and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases.

The Enhanced Role RN will be responsible for the following

  • Obtaining patient's complete sexual history
  • Complete a physical examination to detect sexually transmitted diseases by ordering appropriate laboratory tests, evaluating findings, treat according to approved medical directives or refer clients to appropriate clinical resources as necessary
  • Provide counseling components to include risk reduction education for HIV, testing for HIV, provide counseling and education regarding STD's and unplanned pregnancy
  • Share responsibility with team members for planning, implementing, and evaluating the STD Program

Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining clinic supplies, assist with CQI for clinic
  • Attend trainings to maintain licensure
  • May be required to work occasional evening clinic

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
  • No specific experience required
  • Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse as issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
  • Enhanced Role Registered Nurse certification required within 18 months of employment
  • Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record
  • Equivalent education and experience are NOT accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

  • Currently holds and active ERRN certification
  • BSN
  • Bilingual
  • CPR Certification

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (May be required to work occasional evening clinic)

Hiring Range: 30.29 - 40.90

Market Range: 30.29 - 51.50
