OVERVIEW

We are looking for translators with experience in translating patents from English into Portuguese (Brazil) (native-level fluency of Portuguese) with immediate availability for a patent translation project.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in translating and proofreading patents, specifically in the field of Chemistry, Computer Science, Electricity.

Main Duties

• Translate patent-related content from English into Portuguese(Brazil) , with original meaning conveyed in a manner that is readable and understandable to target audience.
• Perform translation and copy edit from English (en-US) to Portuguese (pt-BR) for patent.
• Identify and correct linguistic errors, ensuring consistency in terminology, style, and adherence to client-specific guidelines.
• Provide detailed feedback to translators and create comprehensive quality reports.
• Ensure adherence to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and project guidelines.
• Utilize CAT tools (XTM) to review and assess translations efficiently.
• Manage weekly capacity to handle +5,000 words per locale and ensure timely task completion.

Requirements

• BS/BA in linguistics, translation, biology, or related fields.
• 2+ years of work experience in translation, linguistic quality assessment, copywriting, or copy-editing, specifically in patents or technical content.
• Deep understanding of biological terminology and ability to adapt complex scientific language for target audiences.
• Proven experience in reviewing or translating patents or technical documents.
• Proficiency in using CAT tools like XTM for project management and quality assessment.
