Job Description

We are looking for an English Teacher for an International School based in Beijing. This position is available from the upcoming 2026/27 academic year in August 2026.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality English lessons for senior high school students, with a focus on advanced reading, academic writing, speaking, and critical analysis.
• Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations (e.g. school finals, international exams) through targeted instruction and practice.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the high school English curriculum, including units on literature, non-fiction texts, and academic writing.
• Design a range of formative and summative assessments and provide clear, timely feedback to help students track and improve their performance
• Create a supportive, academically rigorous classroom environment that encourages discussion, debate, independent thinking, and strong study habits.
• Differentiate instruction to support students at varying proficiency levels, including those who need reinforcement and those aiming for top university pathways.
• Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and whole-school literacy initiatives.
• Promote the 4C skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity) and foster cross-cultural awareness through course content and classroom activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, goals, and areas for development.
• Support the wider school community by leading or assisting with English-related clubs (e.g. debate, Model UN, writing club), school events, duties, and routine admin such as attendance and grading.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher
• Relevant teaching experience in an international setting
• Background in teaching English, English Literature or related
