The Role:

This role supports the English and School Education programme team in the implementation of programmes and contracts in compliance with British Council policies and procedures including financial admin, reporting and data collection, evaluation, operational project delivery and managing relations with delivery partners.

Accountabilities:

Managing self and others

  • Holds vendors and suppliers to account for delivering services.
  • Has the ability to work independently and manage workload against project deadlines.

Financial support

  • Manage project finances by planning budgets, tracking expenditure, forecasting costs, and providing financial reports to programme leadership while ensuring effective budget control.
  • Ensure financial compliance through accurate record-keeping, timely vendor payment processing in SAP Finance, and adherence to British Council policies, audit requirements, and funder/partner guidelines.

Project management

  • Manage programme data, reporting, and compliance processes, ensuring data quality, due diligence, and accurate record management.
  • Coordinate grants, procurement, events, and training activities while supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives within programmes.

Relationship and stakeholder management

  • Managed client, partner, vendor, and supplier relationships to ensure effective collaboration and service delivery.

Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI)

  • Demonstrates accountability for fostering an inclusive, anti-racist culture by promoting equity, mitigating bias, supporting wellbeing, and actively embedding EDI and anti-racism principles through continuous learning and practice.

Role specific knowledge and experience:

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a supporting role on programmes or contracts.
  • Administrative and financial administration and reporting experience.
  • Good understanding of basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation, and how they are central to good project management.
  • Experience of working with external partners and stakeholders

Language Requirements:English and Russian (Essential); Kazakh (Desirable)
