Part Time – 25 hours per week | Darwin, NT (Preferred) or Perth, WA

While our preference is for the successful candidate to be based in Darwin, we are also open to considering suitably qualified candidates located in Perth This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing people, strengthening technical capability, and ensuring high standards of safety and compliance within a Part 145 environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position supports the delivery, coordination and administration of technical and non‑technical training for Airnorth’s Engineering workforce. You will develop competency‑based training materials, support OJT supervision for Apprentices and Engineers, and maintain accurate training records to ensure regulatory compliance.

This is a hands‑on role that works closely with Supervisors, Part 145 Trainers, Quality & Safety, and external training providers. You will also conduct hangar inductions and ensure training facilities, materials and assessments are prepared and delivered to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review and administer competency‑based training programs and course materials

  • Deliver technical and non‑technical training to small groups

  • Coordinate and support OJT supervision for Apprentices and Engineers

  • Maintain training records, track progress, identify gaps and schedule required training

  • Administer the Engineering authorisation matrix

  • Ensure all training outcomes are accurately recorded in the CMMS

  • Liaise with RTOs, CASA and external training providers as required

  • Conduct new employee hangar inductions and ensure training facilities are prepared

  • Recommend improvements to training programs and competency‑based courses

  • Support safe work practices and participate in safety initiatives (JSA, Target Zero, risk analysis)

About You

Essential

  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment (or equivalent)

  • Experience delivering training to small groups

  • Strong computer skills and ability to interpret training data

  • Ability to hold and maintain an ASIC

Desirable

  • Aircraft maintenance engineering experience

  • Familiarity with Airnorth aircraft types

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Working Environment

This role is based at the Darwin (preferred) or Perth Engineering facility and may involve exposure to aircraft maintenance environments, including noise and operational activity. Occasional travel to other Airnorth locations may be required.
