Job Description

This is a position with the Baltimore Office team to perform related engineering tasks and provide technical expertise to solve design problems with minimum supervision. Incumbents are expected to perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices and programs.

The worksite is located at Hughesville, MD.

Requirements

  • Performs electric and/or outdoor lighting distribution system design, including extension, improvement, relocation, abandonment, and removal of facilities per company standards. Required to apply published Company standards and calculations using computer aided design and drafting methods.
  • Reviews plans of proposed construction by customers and outside agencies to determine the extent of interference with our existing or proposed facilities.
  • Determines specifications, materials, costs, customer charges, permitting, and right of way requirements and develops the necessary documentation and work management system input to meet all prerequisites for construction.
  • Performs field visits as necessary.
  • Maintains customer contact (internal/external) throughout job to ensure mutually agreed upon commitments are met.
  • Must be capable of walking along outdoor distribution lines to perform field inspections. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Perform basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must interface well with employees and customers at all levels.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications:

A minimum of a high school diploma is required. Electric Distribution experience required. A degree from a university or technical college with experience in construction of electric distribution facilities is preferred.
