A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN I
As an Engineering Technician I, you spend day performing entry-to-routine engineering technican work. Your work involves conducting maps and graphics support to Engineering and/or Utility Departments. You will be assisting in engineering designs of all city projects for compliance with specifications and requirements. While you may also prepare Traffic Control Plans for road closure and for special events. You may also prepare surveys and inspections, collecting and correlating calculations. Your job will also require you to assist in revising the City's infrastructure maps (Ex. streets, utilities, traffic signals, and drainage) on AutoCAD and GIS software.) You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in operations in graphics, and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!
