We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician – Controls Specialist to join our Engineering Integration team in Alice Springs, Australia, supporting advanced control systems, automation infrastructure, and facility-critical operations.
You will work across power generation systems, electrical distribution infrastructure, PLCs, SCADA, BMS, and automation systems within a highly specialised operational environment where no two days are the same. From troubleshooting complex faults to supporting infrastructure upgrades and integration projects, this role offers the opportunity to work on systems that directly support operational and mission success.

WhatYou’llBe Doing
Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, testing, and servicing across control systems, automation infrastructure, and associated electrical equipment
Diagnosing and resolving faults across PLCs, SCADA, BMS, power generation systems, electrical distribution infrastructure, and automation platforms
Supporting system upgrades, configuration changes, commissioning activities, and infrastructure integration projects
Installing, configuring, andmaintainingcontrol systems and automation equipment within operational environments
Monitoring system performance, responding to alarms and operational anomalies, and implementing corrective actions to minimise downtime
Conducting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical investigations into complex system issues
Collaborating closely with Engineering, Operations, Projects, contractors, and external vendors to support maintenance and improvement activities
Reviewing technical documentation, engineering changes, Statements of Work (SOW), SOPs, and operational procedures
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation performance, system reliability, and operational resilience
Maintainingaccuratetechnical records, maintenance documentation, configuration data, and system histories in line with site requirements
Providing hands-on technical support across a diverse range of critical infrastructure systems within a fast-paced operational environment
Participating in operational response activities and supporting critical maintenance requirements whenrequired

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
An Australian Restricted Electrical Licence or recognised equivalent U.S. electrical licence subject to applicable regulatory requirements
Certificate III qualification as an Electrician, RefrigerationMechanicor other relevant trade discipline or;
Significant relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications
5 years of experience working in a similar environment with trade qualifications or;
5 years of experience in Building Management Systems Engineer or;
5 years of experience as Controls Systems Engineer
Demonstrated experience working within industrial controls, automation, electrical or facilities infrastructure environments
Current Driver’s License
Highly Regarded
Experience supporting Building Management Systems (BMS),SCADAand industrial automation platforms
Experience supporting power generation and electrical distribution infrastructure
Experience supporting mission critical or high-availability infrastructure environments
Experience working within secure,remoteor highly regulated operational environments
Experience supporting infrastructure integration,commissioningor system improvement projects
