Job Description

BOOST LLC is a dynamic management consulting firm that offers an array of government-compliant back-office solutions to support our teaming partners within the GovCon space. We are working with our client, Don Selvy Enterprises (DSE) to find their next highly skilled Engineering Technician.

About DSE

DSE, Inc. is a team of experienced professionals dedicated to engineering, training, and program management that enables front-line soldiers, sailors, and Marines to fully exploit the tactical capabilities of aviation and maritime platforms. We accomplish this by using the most qualified employees and keeping abreast of every new capability in aviation, maritime technologies, and simulation/training technology as it emerges. Our wide range of expertise is constantly expanding as we seek valued members of the DSE team and work to develop each of them to their fullest potential in the field. To this day, DSE continues to foster a work environment that supports ingenuity and the care for each member of the team.

The Role

The Engineering Technician supports the development, integration, and sustainment of the Marine Air-Ground Networked Layer (MANGL) across multiple Marine Corps aviation platforms. This role provides technical management and coordination for complex, multi-component avionics systems, ensuring successful design, testing, production, and in-service support. You'll work closely with platform program offices, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to align requirements, schedules, and integration strategies, collaborating with cross-functional subject matter experts to deliver resilient, mission-ready communications capabilities.

Why DSE

DSE doesn't just ask for your experience, it rewards it. DSE's PTO program is experience-based rather than tenure-based, meaning the relevant industry experience you bring with you can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, rather than starting over at the bottom like you would at most employers. It's a rare structure in this industry, where most companies only reward the tenure you earn after you join, not the years of expertise you bring with you.

That same philosophy carries through the rest of the benefits package:

  • Starting salary range: $100,000 to $130,000 annually
  • 100% company-paid medical and dental premiums for employees (50% for dependents)
  • 401(k) with up to a 4% company match
  • Fully paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance, no cost to you
  • Employer-funded FSA plus HRA contributions toward your deductible
  • Experience-based PTO: your prior relevant experience can qualify you for a higher PTO allocation from day one, plus the option to purchase additional PTO
  • 11 paid holidays (6 national, 5 floating)
  • Tuition reimbursement to support continued professional growth

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight and management for avionics system development, integration, analysis, testing, and sustainment activities related to MANGL modifications
  • Collaborate with platform-specific teams to understand requirements, schedules, and operational constraints supporting multiple program offices
  • Identify integration risks, technical gaps, and system seams that could impact resilient communications performance, and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Ensure avionics modifications meet all technical, operational, and performance requirements prior to fielding
  • Coordinate engineering efforts across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), NAVAIR competencies, DoD organizations, contractor partners, and fleet stakeholders
  • Support design reviews, system evaluations, and test activities to validate avionics performance within the aircraft environment
  • Assess feasibility and impacts of integrating avionics hardware and software into unique aircraft configurations and mission profiles
  • Facilitate communication between program leadership and technical teams to maintain alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
  • Support production and in-service sustainment planning to ensure long-term operational effectiveness
  • Provide subject matter expertise on avionics integration challenges, system interoperability, and platform-specific considerations
  • Monitor progress of assigned efforts and provide status updates, technical recommendations, and decision support to program leadership

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or an engineering discipline

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering role
  • Must work onsite 100% of the time at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, St. Mary's County, Maryland
  • Must possess a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements

DSE is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
