ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

Under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technician provides project and program management support for the Design Engineering Department. This role is responsible for coordinating project schedules, tracking milestones, organizing engineering documentation, preparing project status reports, and maintaining project dashboards to ensure engineering projects remain on schedule and leadership has clear visibility into project progress.

The position works closely with engineers, operations, purchasing, and vendors to facilitate communication, coordinate activities, identify schedule risks, and support successful project execution. In addition to project coordination responsibilities, the role assists with engineering documentation, data analysis, and administrative support as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain engineering project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
  • Track project milestones, action items, deliverables, budgets, and key dates.
  • Coordinate project activities between engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and external suppliers.
  • Prepare weekly project status reports, dashboards, Gantt charts, and executive summaries.
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, decision logs, and action item registers.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively communicate schedule risks, delays, and resource conflicts.
  • Assist engineers with planning project workloads and prioritizing activities.
  • Support capital project reporting and documentation.
  • Coordinate engineering meetings and prepare presentation materials.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to identify schedule risks and proactively communicate issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience creating dashboards, Gantt charts, project schedules, and executive presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Project Management, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or technical projects preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: N/A

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Project, as well as experience using Monday.com.
  • Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD or Solid Works)

Qualifications
Preferences

� Associate�s degree or greater from college or technical school in a technical field of study is preferred

� 5 years� experience in FEP extrusion and wire drawing is preferred
