Job Description

The Engineering Technician will perform unscheduled work, sustainment work (preventive maintenance), corrective maintenance and enhancement work which includes preparation of memos, plans, specifications, drawings, planning/programming/execution documents, papers, letters, presentations, briefings, and other correspondence, in addition to leading and/or participating in the required meetings/visits, and planning/programming/execution conferences/meetings as required to support project development. This position is considered contingent upon award.

Individuals must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government security clearance to be retained in the position

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized expertise and recommendations in relation to Facilities, Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) projects.
  • Plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, record and manage the processes and documentation, and negotiate effectively.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain good working relationships.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle, navigating on both paved and gravel roads.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Extensive knowledge of Building Code requirements, equipment troubleshooting, equipment diagnostics, & equipment evaluation required.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and/or local regulations and statutes, Air Force and DoD regulations and other documentation.
  • Assist with schedule support, project level meeting attendance, database support, and budget submittals.
  • Assist with cost/schedules/status report reviews, scientific and technical research/document reviews/recommendations, and analysis of program and project data gaps.
  • Must be detailed and safety oriented.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in either HVAC or Electrical building code requirements.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.

Skill & Certification Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of industry trends, technology, codes, and regulations.
  • The ability to diagram designs both manually and with computer-aided drafting.
  • Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Cost Estimating Software.
  • Good team working and communication skills.
  • An excellent working knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Presentation and briefing capabilities
