Job Description

The Engineering Technical Learning Leader will enable the continuous improvement of the Engineering organization by providing direction and assistance for learning development and knowledge transfer and retention (KTR) activities. This includes cross-functional coordination to meet engineering needs for technical onboarding, indoctrination, and developmental learning of Engineering employees across various product offerings. It also includes serving as project manager for various technical development courses and KTR programs. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring sound operational judgment.

This role will be onsite at the GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Headquarters in Wilmington, NC to support on-site activities as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support engineering led activities related to New Hire Orientation, Onboarding, and Leadership Development Programs.
  • Confer with management and conduct surveys to identify program needs over time.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts for program.
  • Manage the Nuclear Design Fundamentals course and associated practicum with leadership from Chief’s Office.
  • Instruct and/or deliver onboarding training content as necessary, with mentorship from current lead instructor.
  • Support and develop KTR programs (including, but not limited to, Deep Smarts) for the Engineering Organization.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Program Leader for Technical Learning and/or Chief’s Office.
  • Willingness to learn new technology and Systematic Approach to Training.
  • Foster strong Nuclear Safety Culture in the Engineering Organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 3 years of related professional experience in project management, instructional design, and/or engineering tasks.
  • OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of related professional experience in project management, instructional design, and engineering tasks.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Relocate to or already located in Wilmington, NC to support on-site activities as needed.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology

Desired Characteristics

  • Project Management Experience with ability to lead programs/projects.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Self-starter, with demonstrated ability to prioritize, perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to execute processes/programs, establish standard work as needed, and continuously improve based on user feedback.
  • Proven ability to develop team relationships.
  • Experience with training program design.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • High commitment to safety and quality

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
