Job Objective

Group Technology enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, resilient, and scalable technology platform through a strategic focus on engineering excellence, delivery quality, innovation, and operational discipline.
This role will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of Digital Channels and Shared Services for the Corporate Internet Banking Platform (CIBP). The role is responsible for Mobile Engineering, UI Engineering, Business Analysis, and Shared Platform Services that support multiple business domains across the Corporate Banking franchise.
The successful candidate will combine deep banking domain expertise, modern software engineering leadership, mobile and digital channel architecture experience, and proven capability in building and leading high-performing engineering and business analysis teams.

The role will drive consistent engineering standards, reusable platform capabilities, AI-enabled software delivery practices, and seamless customer experiences across Web and Mobile channels.

Principal Responsibilities

• Lead engineering delivery for Corporate Internet Banking Digital Channels including Web, Mobile and Shared Platform Services supporting multiple business domains.
• Define and drive the Mobile Engineering strategy covering Android, iOS and HarmonyOS platforms, ensuring secure, scalable and consistent customer experiences across all mobile channels.
• Lead UI Engineering capability across the organization, driving Angular-based architecture, Micro Frontend (MFE) adoption, reusable component frameworks, enterprise design systems and digital channel standards.
• Lead and manage Business Analysis teams, ensuring business requirements are clearly documented, traceable, implementation-ready and aligned with target business outcomes.
• Partner closely with business stakeholders, product managers and operations teams to understand strategic objectives and translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Drive architecture standards and engineering practices across Mobile, UI, Shared Services and Digital Channel platforms.
• Establish and enforce enterprise engineering standards covering architecture, API design, microservices, event-driven systems, security, observability, testing, release management and AI-enabled software delivery.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, solution reviews, code reviews, design governance and production readiness assessments.
• Lead the development and governance of shared engineering capabilities including:
• Design Systems and UI Component Libraries
• Test Automation Platforms
• AI Engineering Platforms and Development Accelerators
• Observability and Monitoring Platforms
• Developer Experience (DevEx) Platforms
• Engineering Governance and Quality Frameworks
• Lead engineering teams across DBS Technology China and vendor partners while ensuring high-quality delivery and predictable execution.
• Drive DevSecOps and engineering excellence initiatives including CI/CD, automated testing, performance engineering, resiliency testing, observability and production support practices.
• Champion adoption of AI-enabled software engineering practices and development accelerators across engineering and business analysis functions.
• Establish governance and controls for AI engineering tools to ensure compliance with architecture, security, risk and regulatory standards.
• Mentor Engineering Leads, Mobile Leads, UI Leads, Architects, Business Analysts and Shared Services teams while developing long-term organizational capabilities.

Education and Relevant Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 8 years leading large-scale banking technology programmes.

Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale Corporate Internet Banking, Transaction Banking, Cash Management, Payments, Digital Banking or Corporate Banking platforms.

Strong understanding of banking products and processes including:

Demonstrated experience establishing governance and controls for AI-generated code and AI-assisted software delivery.

Experience working in Agile delivery environments using Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and DevOps operating models.

Cloud, Architecture, Security, Agile or AI Engineering certifications will be an added advantage.
