Job Description


Oversee engineering assignments for all product development and product support functions that are assigned to the team.

Essential Functions:

  • May perform the functions and responsibilities of an engineer.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams.
  • Participate in or oversee the design process as needed.
  • Monitor the demand for engineering services and participate in planning processes to ensure adequate resources.
  • Develop, formulate, and direct engineering processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate new products or product changes into the division.
  • Coordinate the development of key engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of engineering documentation.
  • Promote and maintain the highest possible environment of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provide assistance and direction on engineering issues and keep appropriate staff informed of issues or concerns.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in engineering design, methods, and applications.
  • Coordinate efforts to ensure proper safety and ergonomics standards are met in the work area.
  • Keep informed of new developments, methods, and techniques in the technical profession.
  • May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
  • Learn, understand, continuously improve, and promote the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years related experience required, or experience in lieu of education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to design tools/software and apply foundational engineering principles.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Ability to identify design challenges, propose solutions, and troubleshoot issues with guidance.
  • Communication Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills for articulating design concepts, collaborating within teams, and conveying ideas effectively.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies, embrace new methodologies, and adapt to project requirements and team dynamics.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capacity to analyze data, interpret specifications, and contribute to design solutions.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach.
  • Exposure to a normal office environment; may occasionally require entering a production environment with noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
