As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Engineering Team Lead to lead our Data Engineering capability and help shape the future of our data platform, architecture and engineering standards.
As Engineering Team Lead, you will provide both technical and people leadership across the Data Engineering function. You'll be responsible for defining and driving data integration and data management strategies, ensuring scalable and resilient solutions are delivered across the Analytics Lab.
This role combines leadership, solution architecture, platform oversight and stakeholder engagement. You'll work closely with teams across Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics and Data Visualisation to ensure data is accessible, trusted and ready to generate meaningful business insights.
You'll also play a key role in the ongoing evolution of our Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, establishing reusable frameworks, governance controls and engineering best practices to support the Lab's continued growth.
Lead, mentor and develop a team of Data Engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement.
Provide guidance on engineering best practices, methodologies, tools, standards and delivery approaches.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, coaching team members to support their professional growth and performance.
Provide strategic oversight of the Microsoft Fabric data platform, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and reliable.
Design and guide data integration strategies that support business growth and evolving analytics requirements.
Provide architectural leadership across projects, designing solutions for reuse, maintainability and long-term value.
Represent the Analytics Lab in architecture discussions and governance forums where required.
Oversee the onboarding of new data feeds and the migration of data assets as the Group expands.
Lead the design and implementation of logical and physical data models supporting enterprise data warehouse solutions.
Drive the development of robust ETL processes, data pipelines and integration frameworks.
Establish reusable engineering patterns that enhance delivery consistency, efficiency and governance.
Implement and enhance control frameworks that support risk management, operational visibility and data quality.
Ensure recurring data loads and integrations are monitored, governed and managed effectively.
Support the implementation of data security, compliance and governance standards across the platform.
Drive best practice approaches to metadata management, data lineage and documentation.
Act as a key link between Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics and Data Visualisation teams.
Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to translate business challenges into scalable data solutions.
Build strong relationships with senior leaders, vendors and technical teams to support successful delivery.
Support the creation and maintenance of architecture documentation, data flow diagrams, ERDs, data dictionaries and technical design artefacts.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience working in Data Engineering, ETL development, systems integration and data warehousing environments.
Proven experience leading technical teams and driving engineering best practices.

Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric or enterprise-scale data integration platforms.

Strong understanding of Business Intelligence strategies and how data platforms support analytics and reporting.
Financial Services experience.
General Insurance experience.
Experience working within large-scale, complex data and analytics environments.
Exposure to enterprise architecture and governance frameworks.
Strong project and stakeholder management experience.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong understanding of translating business requirements into technical and functional solutions.
