Reports to Resident Engineer or any other person appointed to supervise him/her from time to time.
PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for planning and executing topographic surveys, developing digital terrain models, and establishing survey control systems to support design and construction activities. The candidate will provide technical support through survey‑control compliance monitoring and construction progress reporting. He/she will also conduct quantity measurements, assist with payment certifications, and contribute to overall quality assurance throughout the design and construction supervision processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and coordinate engineering land survey, collate surveyor general's existing data.
Ground survey for the establishment of a digital terrain model (DTM).
Establishment of survey ground controls.
Survey control levelling.
Post-processing of survey data.
Training of junior personnel.
Traffic accommodation- and environmental compliance inspection and reporting.
Carrying out design verification, digital design modelling, and confirmation of setting out data, and initiating design amendments if needed.
Liaising and preparing data for discussion with and presentations to stakeholders, including the Contractor and sub-contractors, client representatives on site, and third-party stakeholders such as local political-, community-, and service authorities.
Carry out quantity measurements for completed lots and prepare interim payment certificates for payment.
Assist the Resident Engineer with quality control and financial process workflows.
Draft instructions to the Contractor, as implied in the Contract and Specifications.
Documentation and record control, ensuring up-to-date design drawings and instructions are available to and followed by the Contractor.
Measuring, analysing, and reporting on construction progress.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Proficiency in MS Office.
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D/Model Maker/Road Maker
Proficient use of drones and GPS/GNSS survey equipment.
Ability to prioritise and organise, work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
Practical, logical and methodical way of thinking
A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Honours Degree/B-Tech Degree in Land Surveying
5 years minimum working experience
Strong numeracy and financial management skills
