Job Description

The Opportunity

Ulteig is looking for an Engineering Supervisor to join our Renewables Civil Department and help lead the delivery of impactful utility-scale renewable energy projects This is a strong opportunity for a motivated civil engineering leader to guide and develop a team supporting primarily solar projects, with opportunities to contribute across wind and battery storage initiatives. In this role, you will combine technical leadership, people development, and project execution to strengthen team performance and deliver high-quality solutions for our clients. You will also partner across the organization with multi-discipline engineering, project management, business development, marketing, and human resources, making this an ideal role for someone excited to grow their leadership impact in a dynamic and expanding market.

What You'll Do

Project Execution Responsibilities - 60%

  • Lead civil engineering activities during the design and construction phases of multiple concurrent projects, as assigned.
  • Provide project oversight by managing engineering scope in alignment with technical contracts, supporting change order development, and maintaining project schedules.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple disciplines and with project managers on complex projects.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, responsiveness, and technical execution to meet internal and external client expectations.
  • Oversee and support the design activities of team members, providing guidance and review to promote quality and consistency.
  • Review project drawings, calculations, and specifications, and assume responsible charge as needed.

Management Responsibilities – 30%

  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to help team members achieve individual, team, department, and organizational goals.
  • Coach, develop, and support engineering staff in pursuing growth and career development opportunities.
  • Provide direction and support to direct reports on matters related to team operations, departmental priorities, and company decisions.
  • Partner with the Technical Manager to align team communication, staffing priorities, and project execution needs.
  • Plan workloads for direct reports and collaborate with other Engineering Supervisors and Technical Managers on broader resource planning across the group.
  • Lead team performance by setting clear expectations, monitoring progress, and supporting accountability, development, and employee growth.
  • Actively support recruiting efforts and participate in attracting, selecting, and hiring top talent.

Business Development Responsibilities – 10%

  • Partner with the Sales team and engineers across the organization to support revenue growth and expand services with existing and prospective clients.
  • Support proposal efforts by developing content, coordinating resources, and reviewing submissions in partnership with the Proposal Development Team, Project Management group, and other departments.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and a clear understanding of client needs and opportunities.

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent, required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire, strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of civil engineering experience required, including at least 3+ years of experience in the design and construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, teams, and project demands effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams, leadership, clients, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects with strong follow-through, clear expectations, and timely execution.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to explore new ideas while balancing organizational risk and business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools relevant to the role.
  • Embraces innovation and supports the use of AI-enabled tools, including Microsoft Copilot, to improve efficiency, automate work, and create value for Ulteig and our clients.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $120,800-$163,500*
* Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
