Job Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.

In this role you will…

Drive labor planning, cycle time optimization, and continuous improvement for current and future vehicle programs within Final Assembly, partnering across engineering, production, and skilled trades to build safe, efficient, and well-balanced manufacturing operations.

What you'll do…

  • Provide engineering analysis to support labor planning for product mix changes, line speed adjustments, staffing requirements, and operational readiness.
  • Conduct program planning activities and evaluate the labor impact of current and future vehicle programs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to assess new program content, complete labor allocations, and perform MODAPTS time studies to establish accurate cycle times and labor standards.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and waste reduction methodologies to improve efficiency and support plant Industrial Engineering targets within Final Assembly.
  • Analyze production constraints and perform cycle time studies to optimize process flow, balance workloads, and improve throughput for current and future vehicle programs.
  • Lead the implementation of workstation layout changes, work balance adjustments, tooling improvements, material presentation enhancements, and process documentation updates.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments and recommend solutions that improve employee safety, reduce risk, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and other plant functions to resolve process and method issues associated with new model launches and ongoing operations.
  • Work closely with UAW representatives to evaluate work methods and maintain labor standard documentation in accordance with negotiated agreements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance across manufacturing operations.

You'll have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ Years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in an automotive manufacturing environment working on new model launches

Even better, you may have…

  • MODAPTS Certification
  • AutoCAD experience
  • New Model Launch experience
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder…or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
