About the role:

As part of the Hydro Team, the Engineering
Services Manager will;
- Be part of leading the strategic direction for Cruachan to optimise performance, risk, and cost.
- Oversee and manage technical risk governance.
- Partner with Plant and Managers to ensure efficient, reliable operations and long-term asset integrity.
- Develop and assess business cases to drive performance improvements.
- Champion safety and environmental standards through clear targets and initiatives.
- Support capital budgeting, outage delivery, and monthly investment tracking.
- Identify long-term capital needs aligned with safety, compliance, and market demands.
- Provide technical management of plant modifications and change initiatives.
- Oversee contracts and compliance (CDM, PUWER, PSSR, LOLER) and support key site services.
- Lead, develop and manage Technical Services team performance and capability.
- Set objectives, monitor delivery, and drive continuous improvement in plant and team performance.
- Lead and contribute to key operational, engineering, safety, and project meetings.
- Ensure resources, compliance systems, and processes support safe, efficient operations.
- Manage change, audits, and compliance to meet regulatory and business standards.

Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role you’ll ideally
have…
- A degree in engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven leadership experience in power, engineering, maintenance, or operations.
- A strong understanding of hydro technologies and asset optimisation strategies.
- Solid commercial awareness, including finance, procurement, and contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.
- A track record of delivering results in fast-paced operational environments.
- Experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams with high engagement and strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, able to develop team capability.
- An analytical mindset with ability to interpret complex data for decision-making.
- Experience with technical specifications, tendering, contractor management, and HSE compliance.
