Job Description

United Wire & Cable, a GCG company, is looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Engineering Project Coordinator to support the execution of customer-driven projects and ensure the seamless coordination of materials, suppliers, and timelines.

As the Project Coordinator, you will manage supplier relationships, coordinate purchasing and logistics activities, and support project execution through effective planning and communication. You'll contribute to project success by directing purchase orders to suppliers, ensuring schedules are met, and proactively managing vendor timelines through weekly meetings.

If you enjoy working as a central coordinator, managing moving pieces, and collaborating across teams to bring complex projects to life, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing, technically driven business.

What You'll Do

  • Create and manage purchase orders to support project and inventory demand
  • Follow up with vendors to confirm pricing, freight, and delivery timelines
  • Expedite orders and proactively address delays, backorders, and supply disruptions
  • Handle customs paperwork for cross-border shipments, reconcile delivered parts with project records, and update clients with delivery information
  • Audit packing lists, confirming order acknowledgments, authorizing accounting to pay supplier invoices, updating customer inventory records, and marking POs as shipped in Dynamics
  • Communicate supply risks and impacts to project timelines with internal stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new sourcing opportunities
  • Contribute to supplier performance management and continuous improvement efforts
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and leadership on project needs and forecasting
  • Maintain accurate part, pricing, and supplier data within CRM/ERP systems
  • Source new vendors, parts, or materials on an as needed basis

What You'll Bring

  • University or college degree in a related field; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Working understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication, and quality systems
  • Experience working with CRM and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Exposure to supplier performance management or vendor development initiatives preferred

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 CAD dependent on industry relevant experience
  • Comprehensive Insurance Coverage including health, vision, and dental plans
  • Robust Financial Security: Company-paid life and short-term disability insurance, RRSP plan with company match
  • Generous Time Off: PTO plan with paid holidays
  • An employee-centric company that values and truly appreciates our most important asset: You!
