SUMMARY

Provides analysis, design, specification, implementation, testing, and support of processes and their supporting information tools within the designated department. Reports to organizational leadership within the department. Works closely with individual engineers and subject matter experts, supervision and management, IT personnel, planning personnel, and customers in other departments at various levels of the organization. Daily duties will involve supporting multiple customers in the organization on projects of widely varying complexity, duration, and priority. While broad capability is desired, the position responsibilities and qualifications may be focused on one or more particular aspects of this description.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements approved information tools using company-supplied desktop software tools
  • Provides key interface with planning personnel, including coordinating work scope development, plans, and schedules
  • Maintains databases and performs analyses on large data sets to develop trends, rates, and algorithms on wide ranging issues, such as quality metrics, mass properties, schedule adherence, and experimental results
  • Performs work sequence analysis and documentation (including data collection and flowcharting), root cause analysis (including interviews, timeline generation, and data review) in support of project development, process improvement, quality initiatives, and cost and schedule control
  • Develops supporting documents for subcontracting engineering activities based on direction provided and/or using prior examples for guidance
  • Provides tools for, tracks data, and develops projections for direct and/or overhead expenditure of labor and material cost
  • Assists with the development of presentations, proposals, and decision-making documents
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned, potentially including data recording and assessment aboard ship and in production areas

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Predictive Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field, or Business, Program Management, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, or (5) years directly applicable experience including a majority of that time demonstrating competency performing the analysis and process assessment functions described herein
  • Demands a process orientation and demonstrated skills in data analysis
  • Demands proficiency with NASSCO’s desktop information tools (MS Office in a network environment required. Jira, Confluence, Tableau, SSRS, VBA, and/or MatLab desirable)
  • Must be able to analyze and understand processes, the information flow within those processes, and identify potential improvement areas
  • Must be able to effectively communicate the results and recommendations of work done, including justifications and the methods to achieve them, both verbally and in writing

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The essential functions of this role are performed in an office setting. The role requires prolonged periods of working in a stationary position, operating a computer, computer programs, and standard office equipment necessary to perform the essential duties. The role requires perceiving information and communicating effectively with others in person, online, and on the phone.

PAY SCALE

$72,300 - $101,200

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
