Engineering Operation Planner

The Engineering Operation Planner I supports the planning and coordination of engineering schedules and activities for gas turbine, steam turbine, and combined cycle equipment projects. This entry-level role applies standardized planning processes to support alignment of engineering execution with project schedules, resources, and deliverables. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to ensure efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Assist with development, scheduling, and release of engineering tasks to support project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project plans outlining scope, timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables.
  • Monitor work requests, demand, and capacity commitments using project scheduling systems (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and management to resolve scheduling issues and support performance tracking.
  • Provide data entry, reporting, and database support for engineering project systems and process improvements.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering, Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology or related technical field discipline or technical diploma from college or university and 2-3 Years extensive direct experience Industrial, EPC, Power Generation, Oil and Gas, or project support is required.
  • Experience with project scheduling and a strong understanding of engineering project scheduling fundamentals, execution of engineering task and work request systems, and demonstrate proficiency in planning, reporting, and data accuracy across engineering toolsdesired.
  • Strong analytical skills related to engineering problem solving. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required.
  • Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Deltek Open Plan, Safran) preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Minimal travel May be required – potential to visit project sites domestically and for up to 10% of the assigned work year.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
