Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a driven and hands-on Engineering Management intern to support the launch of our Production Training Program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of developing a cutting-edge workforce training initiative rooted in continuous improvement.

You will work closely with the Production Engineers and factory personnel to observe, document, and help standardize key manufacturing processes. The internship is ideal for a student passionate about both engineering operations and people development, with a desire to make a real impact on training and culture from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Factory Floor Engagement: Spend time on the production floor learning how equipment and processes operate firsthand.
  • Process Mapping & Documentation: Analyze and document key manufacturing workflows with the goal of building clear, easy-to-understand Standard Work procedures.
  • Training Content Development: Assist in developing the initial training modules, including hands-on visuals, video content outlines, and step-by-step work instructions.
  • Software Utilization: Use internal systems such as Epicor and/or UKG to track training progress, gather operational data, and help integrate training documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement Support:
    Identify improvement opportunities in existing processes and contribute to a culture of learning, safety, and collaboration.
  • Collaborative Feedback Loops:
    Participate in team discussions and feedback sessions to refine training tools and delivery methods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable working closely with operators and engineers.
  • Interest in workforce development and training.
  • Familiarity with process improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with ERP is a bonus
  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to take initiative in a hands-on environment
