We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. We’re building one of Spotify’s most social and engaging experiences: Jam. Jam brings people together through music, enabling friends and groups to listen in real time, wherever they are. It transforms listening from a solo activity into a shared experience and plays an important role in how Spotify connects users through audio.

You’ll join a cross-functional team working across mobile, backend, and platform technologies to shape how millions of people experience music together.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, support, and grow a team of engineers across iOS, Android, backend, and cross-platform technologies

  • Drive delivery of features that power real-time, shared listening experiences

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to shape vision, strategy, and roadmaps

  • Guide the team through complex technical challenges such as real-time synchronization, device connectivity, and cross-platform consistency

  • Enable high-quality, reliable user experiences across devices and platforms

  • Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and strong engineering practices

  • Create an inclusive and healthy team environment where individuals can grow and do their best work

Who You Are

  • You have experience leading and developing engineering teams, including hiring, coaching, and performance management

  • You are experienced with building and scaling complex systems, ideally in real-time or distributed environments

  • You have a strong understanding of software engineering across mobile and backend technologies

  • You care about building inclusive, collaborative teams and creating a positive team environment

  • You are comfortable working across disciplines and influencing product and technical direction

  • You balance execution with long-term thinking and make thoughtful, pragmatic decisions

  • You have experience solving challenges related to synchronization, connectivity, or cross-platform development

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in London or Stockholm

  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
