The Position: Reporting to the Director of Engineering, we are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join our team in Perth, Western Australia.

This position will lead technical direction, sign off and drive execution of product engineering requirements, supporting multiple project deliverables. The role collaborates with Product Management and other functions to understand customer and business problems, and deliver solutions that are valuable, usable, technically sound, maintainable, and supportable.

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead, coach and develop a team of engineers, supporting their growth and engagement at Hexagon. You will play an active role in key people leadership activities across the employee lifecycle, including performance conversations, development planning, onboarding support and team capability building, in partnership with People & Culture.

As part of a globally distributed team, this role requires a high level of autonomy and self-direction. You’ll be empowered to make decisions, manage priorities, and drive initiatives independently while collaborating across time zones and cultures

About you

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager, Technical Lead with a background in technology product development, who is ready for a role where your expertise and skill will play a pivotal role in the growth of Hexagon Mining

In addition, we are seeking those with the following skills or attributes.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Background in Software Engineer product development, with exposure to complex, long lived customer facing technology
• Broad technical knowledge across software engineering practises across architecture, design, testing, DevOps and delivery processes
• Prior experience in people leadership and exposure to full employee lifecycle duties.
• Proven success in building high performance team cultures both within the team and wider stakeholder group
• Ability to build collaborative team cultures while driving accountability, execution and delivery outcomes.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with hybrid software-hardware systems, e.g. robotics, automotive, industrial automation, etc.
• Experience working with complex products, legacy systems, hardware and software integration, and/or large-scale technical debt reduction
• Specialized technical knowledge in a relevant domain, e.g robotics, automotive, GNSS, optimization, data science, or similar domains
• Familiarity with engineering delivery, quality, and organizational health metrics
• Experience leading organizational change and scaling engineering teams
