Job Title: Engineering Manager - Product Configuration

Location: Glasgow. Hybrid 2 days/week on site. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Up to £64,500 (DOE)

The Product Configuration Manager will create and implement programme Product Configuration processes which tailor functional driven guidance, including requirements definition for the Information Management Technology solutions & training that ensure the overall configuration of product information is maintained. This includes involvement in Planning & Management, Identification & Breakdown, Change Control, Status Accounting, Verification & Audit and preparation of Engineering Baselines.

Core duties:

  • Responsible for the effective implementation of Configuration Management plans and processes
  • Responsible for ensuring effective use of programme configuration tools
  • Responsible for striking programme baselines and configuration audits in alignment with the design review strategy, ensuring effective change control
  • Lead the configuration team through business change with clarity, encouraging continuous improvement. You will act as a change agent, helping the team adapt to new processes or tools

Essential Skills:

  • Degree qualified, a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
  • Expert in Configuration Management (CM) standards, CM best practice and appropriate and effective applications for complex engineering programmes (ideally accredited in a relevant CM methodology i.e. CMII, NDIA).
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the configuration toolsets, preference for experience with PTC’s Windchill, SENER’s FORAN and AVEVA ERM
  • Previous experience leading or coaching a team, with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at various levels

The Product Configuration Management Team

The Product Configuration Management team oversee implementation of effective Product Configuration Management (CM) practices and processes as well as providing configuration knowledge and experience within a complex engineering programme.

This managerial position is pivotal to the success of the RCD programme. Success in the role requires excellent organisational acumen, an ability to problem solve and effectively lead a team.
