We're Osome - an international fintech startup making the lives of entrepreneurs easier. We help thousands of businesses kick admin, accounting and bookkeeping out of their day-to-day, so they can spend more time on what's important to them. We've developed a unique solution that combines SaaS with a human-in-the-loop approach to provide full-fledged services in real-time.

We’re experiencing rapid growth in both client base and team, which now comprises around 500 people across our offices worldwide. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for more bright minds who are excited to make a real impact by solving complex problems.

What you'll do

• Hire, lead, and mentor an engineering team, providing guidance, feedback, and career development opportunities.
• Ensure team alignment with company goals, translating business needs into clear technical objectives.
• Drive team execution and delivery, ensuring high-quality, timely releases through agile methodologies.
• Develop and enforce best engineering practices, maintaining high standards in code quality, architecture, and scalability.
• Support and optimize team workflows, identifying bottlenecks and improving engineering processes.
• Foster a strong engineering culture, promoting collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders, ensuring technical solutions align with business priorities.
• Oversee system design and implementation, ensuring maintainability, security, and performance.
• Ensure team adherence to DevOps and CI/CD best practices, reducing friction in deployment and releases.
• Monitor and optimize team performance, balancing speed, quality, and technical debt management.

Who you are

• 3+ years experience as an engineering manager leading teams of 3 or more people.
• Ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, with TypeScript experience preferred. Familiarity with newer ECMAScript specifications.
• Solid understanding of React (with hooks), Node.js (Koa or Express), and PostgreSQL.
• Strong architectural skills, including an understanding of modular design, microservices, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience in designing and implementing RESTful and WebSocket APIs.
• Experience in building Authentication and Authorization system with Standard Protocols, RBAC, and Access Token Management.
• Knowledge of security principles, including API security, encryption, and authentication.
• Proficiency with Linux command line tools.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git, including branching strategies, feature toggles, and CI/CD principles.
• Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS), including Lambda, SQS/SNS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, EC2, and API Gateway.
• Strong knowledge of unit testing, end-to-end testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.
