What you’ll do

EIIC has opening for Manager - Engineering for Modelling and Simulation (M&S) team for Electrical Sector- America and Datacentre portfolio. Incumbent will be responsible for leading team of 8-10 members of M&S team for electrical products and assemlies portfolio. The team will be tightly linked with various key growth programs, RCAs and VA activities from Electrical business in addition to building and enhancing technology capabilities of M&S team through Accuracy, Speed and autonomous models of various electrical products. The incumbent is supposed to partner with EIIC & global stakeholders to drive project success and achieve strategic objectives for the business and M&S team.

Primary functions of the role are mentioned below:

1. Develops & deploys Analysis First approach to programs across Eaton products.
2. Leads and manages multi-disciplonary team for respective portfolio with planning and assigning work for team members.
3. Develops, motivates, coaches team members and measures their work
4. Drives quality management system & ensures quality of engineering deliverables related to wide range of Eaton products.
5. Plans and builds organizational capabilities and capacity, develops SMEs and Leadership pipeline.
6. Develops strategy for team; aligns, develops and deploys systems and processes aligned to strategy."

A. People Responsibilities:

• Lead team of 8-10 talented individuals and provide leadership to guide, coach and mentor to develop future ready talents.
• Select, hire and retain employees in the team by career guidance and people development
• Develop short term and long-term goals for the team. Develop the team in the growth areas, inculcates innovation mindset and ensure effective process deployments.

B. Stakeholder Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships and coordinate with EIIC & global stakeholders.
• Meet stakeholder expectations on R / D / E portfolio by assigning right resources on projects thereby enabling them for faster product development. Maintain strong partnership to ensure analysis first deployment, 100% FPY on tests through accurate simulation models.
• Create culture of continuous improvement to bring in value add in terms of cost, quality and schedule. Deplys Design for Six Sigma within team for robust solutions.

C. Technology Responsibilities:

• Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the team to provide best in class products in line with present and future business needs.
• Work with business stakeholders to secure business funding to strengthen technology development.
• Provide leadership to constantly update and mature technologies based on Technology Roadmap set for the team in line with business product roadmap and product strategies.

D. Organizational Responsibilities:

• Constantly strive towards percolating team’s expertise in to new sites / businesses to get more meaningful engagements.
• Participate in organization initiatives / discussion to add value by leading initiatives effectively
• Effective collaboration with rest of the ESA M&S business teams to create seamless execution of the Electrical projects"

Qualifications

MS/ME/M.Tech. or PhD in Mechanical Engineering of Equivalent

8+ Years of relevant work experience with multinational engineering organizations

Skills

"- Technology development experience in line with the business expectations

• Understanding of numerical techniques used in FEA, CFD, System Modeling, Thermal or Magnetics
• Proven track record in engineering / R&D domain. Candidate should have demonstrated tenacity and flexibility to reliably achieve goals
• Thorough understanding of Six Sigma (DfSS) principles. "

"Candidate should have excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills. Should have demonstrated effective team building and interpersonal skills. Experience with leading teams is a plus.
