Engineering Manager – Low Voltage Power Distribution (Switchboards)
Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: Starting at $160,000+ annually, based on experience

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the design and delivery of low-voltage switchboard systems supporting data center applications. This role combines people leadership with hands-on technical oversight, ensuring high-quality designs that meet customer, safety, and performance requirements.

This position works closely with manufacturing, sales, and customers to drive efficient execution, technical accuracy, and continuous improvement across engineering operations.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical and mechanical engineers focused on switchboard design
  • Establish clear expectations for accountability, ownership, and timely project delivery
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and workflows
  • Design Oversight & Execution

    • Oversee the design of low-voltage switchboards (UL 891 and UL 1558 where applicable)
    • Ensure alignment with customer requirements, one-line diagrams, and system performance needs
    • Guide system configurations including breakers, bus systems, controls, metering, and protection schemes
    • Support product standardization and scalable design practices
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration

      • Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are efficient and production-ready
      • Work with sales and estimating teams to support quoting, BOM development, and technical alignment
      • Engage directly with customers for design reviews, technical discussions, and issue resolution
      • Coordinate with supply chain on component selection and vendor alignment
      • Support commercial efforts to ensure accurate and constructible equipment proposals
      • Quality, Compliance & Testing

        • Ensure designs meet applicable standards such as UL and NEC, along with data center requirements
        • Support factory witness testing, validation, and commissioning activities
        • Maintain documentation related to certifications, testing procedures, and design validation
        • Project & Program Management

          • Manage engineering schedules to meet fast-paced project timelines
          • Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the design process
          • Support project teams in executing large-scale data center initiatives
          • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams
  • Strong background in low-voltage power distribution or switchboard design
  • Experience with UL 891 and/or UL 1558 standards
  • Ability to review and guide complex electrical system designs
  • Experience supporting quoting, BOM development, and technical proposals
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
