At John Deere, software is increasingly at the center of how intelligent machines are designed, delivered, and supported. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Embedded DevSecOps Enablement team—an organization responsible for accelerating the productivity, quality, security, and delivery capabilities of thousands of software engineers developing the next generation of John Deere products.

In this role, you'll lead a team that is transforming how embedded software is built, integrated, tested, secured, and released across the enterprise. Your team owns foundational platforms, pipelines, and workflows that enable hundreds of development teams to deliver software at scale while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and cybersecurity.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of software engineering at John Deere. You'll help drive strategic technology transformations including technology migrations and adoption of containerized development and testing environments, expansion of service-oriented architectures, and integration of security throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Success in this role requires balancing long-term platform evolution with the day-to-day needs of hundreds of active engineering teams, ensuring our developers can move faster while improving quality and security.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for enterprise-scale Embedded DevSecOps platforms and capabilities.
  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for embedded software build, integration, testing, security, and release enablement.
  • Partner with software engineering, Product Verification & Validation (PV&V), Digital ORE, enterprise IT, security, and equipment platform organizations to drive adoption of modern software delivery practices.
  • Serve as the product leader for core DevSecOps enablement platforms used across the enterprise.
  • Drive large-scale engineering transformations, including cloud-native development workflows, containerization strategies, and software supply chain security initiatives.
  • Establish security as a first-class capability within the software development lifecycle, partnering closely with security organizations to embed DevSecOps practices across development teams.
  • Identify common engineering workflows and automate them through scalable platform capabilities that improve developer productivity and reduce operational burden.
  • Influence technical direction, architecture, and software delivery practices across a distributed engineering ecosystem.
