The Right Profile:
As an Engineering Manager (EM) for our Backend Team, you will collaborate closely with product and design teams to build effective, high-performing teams. Your primary focus will be on supporting and developing the individuals reporting to you, enabling them to achieve their professional goals, and aligning these goals with our broader company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Team Building and Leadership:
Build and lead a high-performing backend engineering team.
Empower team members to achieve their goals through coaching, support, and professional development.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Technical Leadership:
Contribute to the engineering and operational practices of the team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Ensure the team adheres to best practices in software development and operational excellence.
Be a hands-on leader, capable of diving into code and contributing to the development process.
Collaboration:
Work closely with product and design teams to align technical efforts with business objectives.
Facilitate clear communication and collaboration across departments.
Mentorship and Development:
Coach and support team members in their professional development.
Unlock the potential of individuals by challenging them to step outside their comfort zones and grow.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
Implement and maintain effective development and operational practices.
Minimum Qualifications
9+ years of industry experience, with at least 7 years as a developer and 2 years of delivering scalable products as a lead/manager.
Proven experience in developing and working on high-scale systems.
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in backend technologies and frameworks.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing engineering teams.
Experience working closely with product and design teams to deliver successful projects.
A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for building and maintaining robust engineering practices.
