Team mission

At the AI Platform team, our mission is to empower Mission Teams across GetYourGuide to build and operate production-grade LLM features independently, democratizing AI development while maintaining the product quality our users deserve and expect.

As the Manager of our AI Platform team, you will lead the vision, strategy, and execution to enable and scale AI-powered features across all product areas. You will be responsible for building and evolving the centralized AI infrastructure that makes LLM development systematic, trustworthy, and accessible at scale. Your team will establish the evaluation systems, abstraction layers, and safety guardrails that allow Mission Teams to ship AI features with confidence and speed, ensuring GetYourGuide delivers reliable, high-quality AI experiences to travelers worldwide.

Your mission

• Lead all hiring and performance management processes for your Engineering team, helping your engineers reach their full potential in this emerging and rapidly evolving domain.
• Drive high-impact projects and outcomes by managing the team's roadmap and portfolio allocation.
• Find and deliver solutions to complex technical challenges that span across multiple services and business domains, ensuring Mission Teams can build production-grade LLM features with confidence.
• Establish and evangelize best practices for LLM development across Tech.
• Balance rapid innovation with production standards to ensure the platform enables speed without compromising quality, security, or reliability.
• Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across product, engineering leadership, and vendor relationships to align platform capabilities with business needs.

Your toolkit

• You have a strong sense of ownership, ensuring technical and product plans are aligned with your stakeholders, your team, and organizational and company goals.
• You approach complex topics with an open mind and a focus on simplicity, particularly when navigating the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
• You bring a strong engineering background in platform engineering, infrastructure, or developer tooling, enabling you to evaluate complex technical decisions related to abstractions, evaluation systems, and safety mechanisms.
• You actively lead and contribute to technical, design, and product discussions within your team's domain, balancing innovation velocity with production reliability standards.
• You are passionate about building and developing a high-performing engineering team—mentoring, coaching, and empowering engineers to tackle novel challenges in the AI space.
• You excel at evangelism and education, building confidence and capability across technical teams through documentation, workshops, and hands-on collaboration.

Extras that give you an edge

• Experience building platform infrastructure or developer tooling that enables other engineering teams to ship faster and more reliably.
• Experience working with LLMs in production environments, including prompt engineering, evaluation systems, or AI safety mechanisms.
• Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment, taking projects from zero to one and scaling them across an organization.
• Experience operating as a technical product manager/owner, particularly for internal platform products serving engineering customers.
• Track record of successful technical evangelism and education initiatives that drove adoption and capability-building across engineering organizations.
