What You Will Do
- Lead and grow a team of software engineers focused on developing core AI agent capabilities for customer support.
- Drive the design, architecture, and delivery of software features across the platform, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and design teams to define and prioritize roadmap initiatives.
- Establish engineering best practices, including code quality and system reliability, to enhance team performance.
- Actively participate in technical decision-making, including system design reviews and architectural trade-offs.
- Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Navigate and resolve blockers while ensuring timely and quality delivery of projects.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 5–8 years of software engineering experience, with significant time in a formal engineering management or technical lead role.
- Proven experience in leading and scaling engineering teams within a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals with the ability to engage in technical discussions and architecture decisions.
- Experience in building and shipping production-grade software systems, particularly in distributed or platform engineering contexts.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of aligning cross-functional stakeholders and representing engineering perspectives effectively.
Preferred
- Experience working on AI, machine learning, or conversational AI products.
- Background in customer experience, support tooling, or enterprise SaaS solutions.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role ranges from $300K to $375K, accompanied by competitive equity options. This is a full-time position requiring onsite presence in New York City, five days a week.
