Engineering Manager - Low Voltage Switchgears
ABB is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Low Voltage Switchgear engineering team. In this role, you will drive technical excellence, manage a talented team of electrical design and manufacturing engineers, and deliver high-quality, cost-effective switchgear solutions to our global customers. You will be responsible for strategic planning, resource allocation, process optimization, and ensuring achievement of contractual and financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of electrical design and manufacturing engineers to deliver innovative low voltage switchgear solutions
Establish andmonitorperformance targets for design quality, delivery timelines, and cost-effectiveness with regular technical oversight
Ensure compliance with international product standards (IEC 60947, IEC 61439 series, IEC/TR 61641) and electrical safety regulations
Maintain and enhance engineering processes, tools, and documentation (ISO 9001 compliance) including the Switchgear Configurator and GlobalEplanLibrary
Drive technical standardization and knowledge transfer across different market segments and geographical regions
Monitor key business KPIs (TTPT, OTD, DPU) and implement actions to support business line objectives
Develop team competencies through coaching, training, and skill matrix management
Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and product management teams tooptimizeproduction and meet delivery commitments
Collaboratewith the Global Business Line Switchgear engineering community and external engineering service providers, fostering knowledge sharing, standardization, resource optimization, and the implementation of engineering best practices
Foster customer & supplierrelationships, gather performance feedback, and drive innovation to enhance product reliability
We are looking for a professional with:
Master’s orbachelor'sdegree in electrical engineeringor equivalent professional experience
Seniorexperience in electrical engineering with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role
Knowledge of low voltage switchgear design, standards (IEC 60947, IEC 61439), and manufacturing processes
Technical background in switchgear configuration, electrical safety, and compliance requirements
Proficiencywith engineering design tools (EPLAN, andMS Office suite
Proven experience in process improvement, ISO 9001 compliance, and continuous improvement methodologies
Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills
Strong communicator with ability to work across cross-functional teams and multiple locations
