The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

Holman currently has an excellent opportunity to join our team in Rancho Cordova as an Engineering Manager.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Manages staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
  • Ensures that department goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
  • Extensive knowledge of department processes
  • Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
    • Anticipates future needs and work
    • Promotes efficiencies through process improvements
    • Formulates several possible solutions or courses of action to achieve results
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems
    • Assesses risk and urgency to plan and prioritize work effectively, delegating when appropriate
    • Overcomes obstacles in striving to achieve long-term, positive, sustainable results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Responsible and accountable for the communication process
    • Able to clearly articulate the company’s vision for the future
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Prioritizes projects and resources to align with strategic goals
  • Identify and prioritize new product opportunities including competitive analysis, price points, and estimated annual volume.
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs
  • Drive the product development process including preparing return-on-investment analyses, establishing timelines with engineering, sales, marketing, and manufacturing.
  • Monitor product performance after the sale to ensure quality and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the product development team with support from leadership, which can include Engineers, Designers, Product Specialists, etc.
  • Develop team members to improve skills in current roles as well as building a bench of talent for future roles through succession planning
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned

Relevant Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Project Management training or certification is a plus
  • 3 – 5 years of experience of management experience leading a team.
  • 5 years’ experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Operations roles
  • Demonstrated prior success as a leader of technical teams
  • Cross-functional Project Management experience
  • 2 years’ experience in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
  • Experience in automotive (OEM or aftermarket) manufacturing, design, or installation is a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement work experience is a plus

Benefits:

Regular Full-Time

We offer excellent benefits including health, vision, dental, life and disability insurance, and 401(k) with company match. Temporary or Part-Time

In geographic areas with statutory paid sick leave, part-time and temporary employees will receive a paid sick leave benefit that meets the mandated requirements.

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $126,210.00 - $195,630.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay and bonus earnings.
