We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. GTI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead engineering execution across multiple concurrent programs within our modular infrastructure portfolio. This role is responsible for:
- Portfolio-level oversight of engineering deliverables
- Alignment with Project Management and Design Leads to ensure engineering work supports scope and schedule
- Aggregated reporting of engineering health, risk, and capacity to Directors
- Development, performance management, and growth of engineering staff
This role does not serve as the sole technical authority for a specific discipline. Project-level technical ownership resides with Design Leads, and engineering standards are defined in collaboration with Discipline Leadership. The Engineering Manager ensures alignment, resource sufficiency, execution quality, and delivery performance across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Delivery Oversight
Oversee engineering execution across multiple concurrent programs in BESS, modular data centers, Gen Set platforms, and related infrastructure
Partner with Project Managers to ensure engineering deliverables align with defined scope, milestones, and release criteria
Monitor engineering health across projects, identifying risks, constraints, and resource gaps early
Provide aggregated project status updates, risk summaries, and capacity insights to Directors
Ensure adherence to structured NPI phase gates and defined design maturity requirements prior to releaseCross-Functional Alignment
Collaborate with Engineering disciplines, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to ensure integrated system delivery
Support resolution of cross-functional execution conflicts impacting engineering scope
Ensure engineering decisions support manufacturability, cost targets, compliance requirements, and scalability across product linesTeam Leadership & Capacity Planning
Lead, coach, and develop Engineers and Designers across relevant disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, systems, or related fields)
Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development
Manage workload balancing and engineering capacity planning across active programs
Build bench strength and succession readiness within the engineering organization
Foster a culture of shared accountability and flexibility, where engineers can operate across detailing, design, and release activities as needed to protect throughputEngineering Process & Quality
Ensure engineering work meets defined quality expectations for drawings, BOM integrity, revision control, and release discipline
Reinforce Design for Manufacturing principles in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering
Support root cause analysis and corrective action for design issues or production escapes
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering workflows, documentation discipline, and release processesRequirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Systems, or related discipline)
8–12+ years of design or systems engineering experience in heavy fabrication, modular systems, industrial manufacturing, or engineered-to-order environments
3+ years of people leadership or technical team leadership experience
Experience with BESS enclosures, modular data centers, Gen Set platforms, or containerized infrastructure
Experience operating in multi-project environments with competing priorities
Strong experience in design release processes, documentation discipline, and cross-functional technical execution
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering execution in schedule-driven environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating within structured NPI or phase-gate development models
Familiarity with fabrication-driven design, structural compliance, or power system integration
Experience in PLM / ERP-integrated engineering systems
Experience scaling engineering teams in growth-stage organizations
