Our products span subsurface interpretation, well construction planning, reservoir simulation, and digital operations — tools used daily by engineers and scientists at the world’s largest energy companies. We are investing significantly in our engineering capability in Oslo, building a permanent, locally-owned engineering organization to take long-term ownership of these platforms.
This is the foundational leadership hire for Landmark’s permanent engineering team in Oslo. Every permanent engineer we hire will report to this person. The role is deliberately a hybrid of people management and hands-on technical leadership — the architect-manager pattern that has historically been carried by the team lead — because engineers do their best work when they report to someone who can credibly review their technical decisions, not just their performance. As Engineering Manager you will set the technical culture, the hiring bar, and the architectural direction for everything the team builds. You are inheriting a codebase and a delivery model that is transitioning from a consultancy-led footprint to a permanent in-house organization, and you will shape how that organization works: how it is structured, how it makes architectural decisions, how it ships, and how it adopts AI-assisted development as a first-class way of working. The platform runs on a modern, cloud-native stack — primarily TypeScript/Node.js and React with .NET services on Azure and Kubernetes — and you do not need deep prior exposure to every one of these technologies; what matters is the judgement to lead a team that works across them.
