About the job
The Engineering Manager is responsible for the technical implementation, evolution, and quality of the organisation’s CMS and content-centric platforms. The role combines hands-on full-stack development with technical leadership, guiding a team of developers and ensuring robust, scalable, and sustainable CMS solutions aligned with architectural standards
Act as engineering lead for the CMS platform, providing hands-on development and technical leadership
Drive technical execution, quality, and consistency across CMS development
Design, develop, and maintain CMS backend services and user-facing applications
Define and evolve coding standards, development practices, and technical guidelines
Review code and mentor developers to support continuous skill development
Collaborate with software and solution architects to align implementation with architecture
Design content structures, schemas, and models supporting long-term reuse and evolution
Own CMS integrations, content processing pipelines, and platform stability
Identify and mitigate technical risks across the CMS platform
Contribute to roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Extensive experience with headless CMS platforms and content-centric systems
Proven full-stack development experience across backend and frontend technologies
Experience acting as a technical or engineering lead within a development team
Strong expertise in content structures, schemas, and markup-based modelling
Understanding of editorial workflows and content lifecycles
Ability to translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Experience with AI agent development
