The Sustaining Engineering Manager role will be based out of our St. Louis, MO facility that will lead a team of engineers in St. Louis as well as other regions in North America who are located at our manufacturing facilities. The Manager will oversee engineers solving operational issues, support quality issues that arise with customer returns, develop cost reduction plans for existing customers, and help support VA/VE initiatives on products that are in production.This position reports to the Vice President of R&D Engineering.
Responsibilities
Supervise and leads engineers/technicians in meeting objectives listed in key responsibilities
Develops processes to improve workflow related to Sustaining Engineering
Confronts and helps resolve operational issues at the manufacturing facilities with team located there
Communicates directly with customers on quality issues impacting delivery or exposure in field
Coordinates customer responses with team in written form or physical presence at customer site
Leads, directs, and reviews work from team intended to go to customers for accuracy and clarity
Host regular meetings to review active projects with Sustaining Engineering team
Coordinates content for executive level reporting when required
Manages all aspects of administrative duties related to the team
Prepares content related to cost reduction summaries outlining benefits, cost impacts, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bachelor of Science degree in ME, EE, or Mechatronics required
Requires 5+ years of experience supervising personnel
Strong supervisory and leadership skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with CAD/PLM systems and PLM as it relates to products
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Travel
Both Domestic and International up to 20%
Language
En glish required, Spanish a plus
