Engineering Manager
Location: Remote (United States)
Company Stage: Profitable, High-Growth Startup (Healthcare / Data Infrastructure)
Office Type: Remote (with occasional in-person team meetings)
Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 + Bonus

Their platform serves as a critical engine for procurement, data management, and operational efficiency across large enterprise healthcare organizations. With strong product-market fit and consistent growth, the company is scaling rapidly while maintaining a focus on delivering meaningful, real-world impact.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a cross-functional team of ~8 engineers across fullstack development and data pipelines
- Drive execution of high-impact features and ensure reliable, scalable system delivery
- Partner closely with Product and technical leadership to define requirements, plan sprints, and manage backlog
- Mentor and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and career growth planning
- Establish and enforce best practices across coding, testing, deployment, and system design
- Contribute to architecture decisions and provide hands-on technical guidance when needed
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Customer Success, Implementation, and Sales
- Support hiring and onboarding to scale a high-performing engineering team
Ideal Background
- 2+ years of engineering management experience, ideally leading cross-functional or fullstack teams
- 4+ years of prior hands-on software engineering experience building backend or data systems
- Proven ability to mentor, grow, and retain engineers across different levels
- Strong technical foundation in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and cloud-based systems
- Experience working with data pipelines, ETL/ELT systems, or data-intensive applications
- Ability to balance technical leadership with delivery execution in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, supply chain, or enterprise SaaS environments
- Background managing teams working on complex data systems or data quality challenges
- Familiarity with data governance, reconciliation, and large-scale data modeling
- Experience working within agile development environments
