Your Role:

This position will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and/or supporting major and minor capital projects for 8 plus manufacturing and shipping locations. At times, this position will be required to support other sites in North America. This position will be responsible for reviewing and summarizing projects with senior management and capital expenditures will be prepared. This position will assist site management in formulating and preparing annual and five-year capital plans and developing long-range site capital goals and objectives. This position will implement and maintain corporate standards for Project Tracking, Project Management, Engineering Outsourcing, Procurement Involvement, Utility Management, Project Cycle Times, % Capitalized Payroll, % Capital Expense Reporting Accuracy, and Design for Six Sigma. This position will be responsible for <$15M in Capital each year. This role will have eight plus direct reports and multiple indirect reports. This position will have peer relationships and work with other Engineering and Capital Directors as well as multiple Site Directors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure major and minor capital projects for <10 manufacturing and shipping locations are coordinated
  • Ensure major and minor capital expenditures are prepared, reviewed, and summarized with senior management.
  • Assist site management in formulating and preparing annual and five-year capital plans and developing long-range site goals and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain corporate standards for Project Tracking, Project Management, Engineering Outsourcing, Procurement Involvement, Utility Management, Project Cycle Times, % Capitalized Payroll, % CER Accuracy, and Design for Six Sigma.

  • Manage <15M per year in major and minor capital for <10 sites in North America
  • Ensure all employees are trained to a Project Management certification

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering degree required
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in Life Science, Pharmaceutical, or GMP compliant environments
  • 5+ years of managing people

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • PMP Certification
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • 7 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent
  • 10 years of managing employees
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in technical sciences – engineering, mathematics, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis capabilities, integral to continuous process improvement
  • Ability to interpret and translate regulatory codes and standards to company operations
  • Advanced financial knowledge capable of developing and executing corporate capital and operating expense budgets within accepted accounting principles
  • Advanced project management skills – ability to monitor complex capital projects and direct activities to successful project completion
  • Superior people management skills for the direction of a diverse workforce
  • Knowledge of demand planning tools

Pay Range for this position: $135,300 – $202,900

Our ranges are derived from several sources, and largely reliant on relevant industry market data.
