A rare opportunity has become available for an accomplished Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team. This is a pivotal executive role, responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and sustainable outcomes while driving operational excellence and strategic growth.

Reporting into the Operations Manager/SSE, you will provide visionary leadership across all facets of maintenance, including HME, breakdown response, field maintenance, and engineering operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance across the site. We’re seeking a engineering & maintenance manager who inspires their team, provides strong leadership, drives innovation and delivers results with safety, sustainability and compliance at the core.

The Role

  • Demonstrate positive leadership, advice and support as head of department. Define clearly the role, accountabilities and expectations of team members.
  • Deliver operational objectives by optimising the availability and reliability of mining equipment.
  • Lead the management, direction and coordination of the department within Hail Creek Coal (including team development and professional development of team members).
  • Develop and oversee maintenance strategies that optimise equipment reliability, cost efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Lead the Implementation and management of Maintenance Management Systems within the Glencore framework, including the coordination of planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Assist senior management team with development of accurate annual budgets and forecasting to align performance to meet annual targets.
  • Oversee achievement of annual budget performance for department.
  • Support the strategy for Hail Creek Coal by appropriately resourcing the business plan to achieve current goals as well as sustainable levels of future performance (including health, safety, environment and community impacts).

About You

  • Obtain a mechanical or electrical engineering degree or trade qualification,
  • Proven success in a senior operational leadership role within open cut coal mining,
  • Strong record of delivering results in safety, maintenance, and cost management,
  • Strategic acumen with the ability to translate vision into execution, and
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
