
You will be leading the Transformer Engineering Team in Haiphong, Vietnam.
Managing teams of electrical, mechanical and controls engineers, responsible for the full engineering design of power transformers and control systems.
Lead the engineering team in Vietnam, ensuring the designs are fully compliant to IEC60076, quality approved, on time and on budget. Understand processes, training, tools, setting operational targets and rhythm to ensure delivery, challenge the status quo and bring in the experience and expertise to deliver performance of team.
Provide local engineering support to Haiphong Transformer factory.
Expert in design related to HVAC and HVDC transformers with knowledge of all aspects of design HVAC transformer design up to 765kV (and preferably of HVDC transformers).
Well-versed with transformer design tools and systems comprising of 3D, 2D (Inventor, Autocad), document management system (WindChill/equivalent), transformer design knowledge, formation of rules and processes, experienced in customer-related and internal design reviews, design for manufacturing and trouble shooting.
Knowledge of 2D/3D Finite Element modelling related to transformers, offshore / HVDC experience preferred.
Quality Focus (KPI’s of On-time Delivery, Right First Time and Budget Adherence). Shall be able to develop the necessary framework for monitoring and improving the KPI’s.
Lean practitioner with ability to deliver cycle time reduction by creating value stream mapping.
Ability to constructively challenge the status quo.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Ability to work effectively across functions.
Strong experience of developing and managing a team.
