Purpose
We’re seeking a passionate and driven individual to join the Payments and Core Banking Engineering (PCBE) team as a champion of value-driven delivery. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, grow your expertise, and make a tangible impact in the competitive, trillion-dollar payments and banking industry. You’ll gain exposure to a diverse range of internal and external business areas, and leverage Scotiabank’s robust technology foundation to design and develop strategic, future-ready infrastructure.
What You’ll Do:
Lead engineering teams to deliver on Enterprise File Transfer program value through planning, discovery, execution and learning phases. This involves leading several legacy migration projects across our File Transfer infrastructure.
Monitor team and program level risks and dependencies, sharing information with value stream stakeholders.
Identify and address team and program level disfunctions.
Closely collaborate at the program level with peers to ensure effective and efficient communication between teams.
Support program level workshops in training teams on Agile frameworks/methodology.
Be the change champion to create structural and cultural changes in the organization to become more agile.
Setup and drive CoP (communities of practice) within the program/portfolio.
Coach and mentor team members and leadership.
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Work in standard office-based environments located in Scarborough and Downtown Toronto; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. No external travel required.
